There are many advantages to additive manufacturing as a critical part of the shift to Industry 4.0. Quicker prototypes, regionalization and digitization of supply chain, mass customization, and unique geometries are the common applications for AM technology. Exergy has been collaborating with the energy industry on research and development that is transformational to this sector of our economy. The team has found ways to combine additive manufacturing with an agile methodology to accelerate the testing and piloting of clean technology.
This keynote will begin by showing how an agile team collaborated with over a dozen companies to design, test, built and donates Canada’s first approved production of emergency ventilators in response to the pandemic. We will then show how making AM technology accessible to empowered teams with an agile mindset can quickly create positive change. Creating a new energy future involves a wide set of solutions from carbon capture, manufacture of batteries, production of hydrogen, elimination tailings ponds. The recipe for success involves a set of tools, technology and a multi-generational team of skilled professionals to make things happen.
